SUGAR LEE
What a wonderful, and educating year and half it has been with Sugar Lee.  She is still petite, as she was the
smallest pup, she only stands 21 inches at her shoulders and weighs 42 pounds.  She is active, we keep a leash
on her all day because she is the best little thief in town.  Anything she can get her mouth on, ends up in the
backyard.  We acquired a small stray that she loves to torment but watches over her as well.  She is a beauty,
anyone that sees her thinks so too.  She is very smart and very loyal.  When allowed in the front yard, she never
runs, she stays within a 30 foot radius of the front door.   She loves to eat tissues and paper towels.  She loves
peanut butter, oranges, and ice cream.  She is a scaredy cat with everyting, but barks and howls like she owns
the neighborhood.  I would do it all over again.  Give our love to Luna and her new pups.  Hopefully, you can send
pics of the new pups.

ZANE
Zane weighs 65 pounds, definitely larger than most we see around. He has beautiful color and features and is not
as scrawny as many vizslas we see. Very lean and muscular. His personality is really playful and and energetic
and super friendly. I have never seen him be at all aggressive toward people or dogs. He loves the beach and
playing with other young dogs.

LUCA
Luca is simply the most amazing creature we've ever been around. Megan says daily, "I never thought I could love
a dog this much?!?" She is more than human. She's a clown. She's a member of the family. She takes care of us.
She knows when we need her. She runs to meet everyone who loves dogs, even if they are in a car slowing down.
Luca is way beyond our expectations. Thank you. We would like to clone here 10 times for the rest of our lives.
She's about 45 pounds. Just right to be on your lap, and still big enough to be called a regular sized dog. She's
faster than any other dog we've ever been around. She even likes to get in trouble in slow motion, so that we can
see that she has found tissue in the trashcan and is now going to tear it apart right in front of us. We have so
many silly stories.

PENNY
Penny is doing very well. She still has a ton of energy, and is very silly, goofy and entertaining! We all love her
very much, she’s a great fit for our family. She likes to sleep buried under the covers or in my daughter’s stuffed
animals – like E.T. in the movie. She does really well on our ski boat, usually sleeping in the sun.  She loves to be
at the dog park – she gets along really well with other dogs and has a wide range of dog friends, from
Chihuahuas to Great Danes. Her best friend is a Weimeraner named Willow. She loves people, too.
Penny is 26” tall at the shoulder (at least I think so, she keeps trying to eat the tape measure lol!), and 62 lbs.
Many people have told us (including other Vizsla owners) that Penny is the most beautiful Vizsla they have ever
seen. She is lean with very long legs, and so her nickname at the dog park is “The Supermodel”. She is much
taller than the other Vizslas, even the males, and she has a beautiful “line”. She is a fast runner, and often leads
the pack at the park, racing around chasing the birds!

HOWARD
Hi Marilyn, he is really really handsome.  He has a beautiful reddish shiny coat and yes it is very short.  People
are always commenting on how beautiful he is.  I was in Pacific Grove sometime this summer and went to a dog
show in Carmel.  Almost everyone I spoke with (including a couple of judges) thought he was showing and
commented on his bone structure and beauty.  It is was pretty cool.  He is very smart and spoiled, I think.  He
loves to go shopping and has tons of toys.  He thinks every bag I bring home must have something in it for him.
He is pretty well behaved at restaurants and stores that allow dogs.  He loves to play with other dogs – very
social.  We are doing nose work classes which he really enjoys and excels at.  Our only issue these days is that
he likes to steal other peoples stuff (mostly flip flops, the occasional tee shirt) at the beach and run.  He doesn’t
care about this stuff at home or anywhere else for that matter and he doesn’t chew it just wants to play keep
away.  I am not sure how to change this behavior, any suggestions?  Thankfully no one has been angry, yet.  I
typically get him to drop it with food but don’t give him the treat as I don’t want to reward his bad behavior or is the
reward for dropping it?  I don’t know.  Anyways he is really a wonderful companion and I am so thankful to have
him with me.  Z

GINGER
So far she has been everything we expected and more. She has grown into a beautiful animal, lean and sleek. The
vet says she is on track to fill out to about 50 pounds, she was 42 when she had surgery. I'm so glad we live on an
acre so she has half that to run around but we still try to walk her twice a day. Fortunately on the next block across
the street is a Native Garden where we have been able to let her run off-leash where she loves chasing birds (of
course, and just all around running) and it has been a picture of beauty in action to watch her run. She has been
very good at coming back (properly motivated with treats). When the weather is warm and we have the time we
take her to the beach, again chasing birds and splashing in the surf she was afraid of the waves initially but has
since lost that fear. Temperament wise she is very active, very smart, likes being around us (or on us at night) and
woofs at strangers. Our TV remotes are trashed, she still gets excited and jumps but no longer jumps on us
including Christopher, 'sits' and 'down's'. I'm so glad we did puppy Kindergarten (twice) because she is very well
mannered around other dogs. However, since her surgery she has begun to enter what I call her "doggie
teenager" phase. It's like she thinks she knows everything and is a big dog now and can do what she wants; I was
not expecting this phase and I hope it doesn't last too long, I've been told it can last 6 months to a year. At times it
seems she has totally forgotten how to 'sit' and 'down'; and 'come' at the native garden is beginning to be
worrisome because she stands there thinking about it for (what seems like very long) a second and then comes.
Counter surfing was a huge problem about two weeks ago but has gotten better. I'm thinking about going back to
obedience training again in another month Those are the ups and downs with the newest member of our family.
Thank you for being patient (waiting all those disappointing cycles) and giving us our wonderful dog.

LADY, :
Lady is doing great! Just had her spayed this week, so she is pretty mopey. I didn't ask her weight, but my guess
would be about 40 lbs (since she was 35 at her last appointment).  She is very sweet, but stubborn. I am always
amazed at how much she puts up with the kids tugging and climbing on her.
She is a pretty girl, and loves her "brother" and "sister"!

SALTY,
Salty is growing steadily and healthy. She to us looks huge, I guess when you get something that is just 6 pounds
to begin with 35 pounds is huge.  But she seems small.  I haven't measured her height but she comes to about my
knee, 22 inches maybe. She looks small compared to all the other dogs she plays with but make up for it in
determination, agility and raw flat out speed.
Her personality is stubborn, sweet, sassy, curious, mischievous, loyal and smart. I would love to see where other
siblings compare to her. Please forward details and pictures on.
She is the joy of our lives and couldn't be happier with any other dog. She is truly part of the family.

KODA
I cannot believe how big KoDa has gotten. You were totally right, all I had to do was get through was the first 6
months. I was so nervous to take him home but I was so lucky to have gotten such a smart and loyal dog! he knew
how to sit, stay and lay down at 2 months, potty training was surprisingly a breeze!!! It took him a while but he's
truly became a "Velcro" dog. We're regulars at the dog park and dog beach and he's such a joy to be around. I
haven’t taken him running yet because I’m waiting for him to get just a little older but we'll start doing short
distances soon. He's my everything :) thank you so much for him, honestly. He's the best dog I could have asked
for. He's SUCH a handsome vizsla. Hopefully you have another get together soon. We were so sad to miss it,
Roger and I both had work that day. I'll be in touch! Thank you again Marilyn.

GROVER
Grover is a wonderfully sweet vizsla who is about to turn one.   He has all the qualities I love about vizslas,  he is a
very gentle dog,  when kids jump on him he not only tolerates it but he loves it.  He likes playing games where he is
challenged to think,  and as it turns out he is very smart.   I am happy that Grover hasn't displayed that neediness
and relentless whining for attention that can be common with this breed.  My favorite thing about Grover is that he
just wants to be friends,  and do what I do,  especially sitting on the sofa.  Grover is one of the most regal and
handsome vizslas I have ever seen,  and I am very happy to have him.  Tom

GUNNER
Gunner is loving life. He gets to go to the dog park everyday and usually on a walk as well. He is about 50lbs now
and looking very lean. I always have to fend off people telling me how beautiful my dog is and how great his
personality is. Its great to watch him run around and try to convince other dogs to chase him. He loves to shred
logs and branches in the backyard and unfortunately sometimes in the house if I cannot catch him trying to bring
the logs in. He is very energetic and playful... but loves to sleep in my bed with his head on the pillow. Sometimes I
feel like he thinks he is a human!

FINLEY
Hi Marilyn,
This update is long overdue, but I had some major computer issues and wasn't able to upload any pictures. We
are having so much fun with Finley. She is an amazing puppy, and we get compliments on how gorgeous she is
EVERYWHERE! She is remarkably spoiled and loved. She is loving the northwest, she has played in snow, rain,
and sunshine. She has already been on a few hikes in the mountains. She is so smart, and she potty trained so
fast, we thought it was a fluke. She follows all basic commands, less so when we are at the dog park with tons of
other dogs. :) She never lets us get too far out of sight and we are blown away at how easy the 'puppy' stage is
with her. She is growing fast, 30 pounds now. Fully vaccinated and now fixed as well. She has been an incredible
addition to our little family, and we can't thank you enough for such a wonderful dog. We are constantly
complimented on how good looking she is, and other viszla owners tell us she is the prettiest one they have ever
seen! She is never aggressive towards people or other dogs and is just as happy as can be. She is definitely still
a puppy, but we can only imagine the incredible dog she will be as she gets a bit older. She is kennel trained but
now sleeps with us in the bed...right in the middle, under the covers. She is quite the snuggler. I have attached a
couple pictures for you. Make sure you show your son since he had a soft spot for our little raspberry puppy! :)
Take care Marilyn, and thank you so much again for spreading your love of this incredible breed.

ZEUS
Zeus is doing well. He weighed 42 pounds when last at the vet about 3 weeks ago; I imagine he is getting close to
50 pounds by now. He is a very nice and playful dog, typical Vizsla. We started in home training about a month
ago. He is very smart and he wants to please.
One thing I notice is he shakes his head to clean out his ears quite a bit. He had an ear infection a couple of
months ago which cleared up with oral meds and a topical cream. I occasionally apply the topical lotion inside his
ears. The vet has checked him recently for infection and found none. I’m not sure if this is something behavioral.
Have you heard or seen anything like this before? It’s a little peculiar I think.
Other than that he is great. We need to work more on the stay command. We also need to curb his jumping up
and his wanting to mouth everything and everyone.

POCKET
Pocket is a pretty awesome dog, very bright and energetic. I have had good success with reward based training
and crating. You were right about her being strong willed, the upside is she is very bright and stays focused
during our training sessions. Shes a happy healthy girl. Thank you for bringing us together.

CHILI PEPPER
We are all doing great. Chili is growing like a weed. When I compare her to Sage she is still so small but I know
she is growing and will not get as big as Sage. We are finishing puppy classes this Friday. She has done real well
with all the commands. She is by far the smartest puppy in class however I must say that she is not the best
behaved. All the puppies in class are laying down, most are sleeping. Chili on the other hand is busy sniffing the
ground for any left over treats and ready for play. Oh well, she is just full of energy. We've had her out with us on
our kayak. Prayed to God that she didn't tip us over. She fell in a few times but doesn't really faze her, she loves
the water. We have also taken her to dog beach several times. She does so well off leash and again loves the
water and the sand. She's not to interested in playing with the other dogs. She stays focused on Lee and I and
keeps a close eye on us. We take her with us most of the time wherever we go. She's great in the car. She gets in
her create and falls asleep. When we are home she plays with Sage. They have been good companions for each
other. Believe it or not Chili dominates Sage, who would have ever thought.  Sage is so good with her and also
very protective of her. Chili weighs 40 pounds now and is eating about 3 3/4 cups of food a day. She's very active
during the day but at night she loves to snuggle with us. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Let us know how she
compares with the others.
Take care and God Bless,

Chili is 23" at her back today. We have her in a puppy class at Petsmart that ends tonight. We`re considering
more training if we find the proper class. She really loves the water no matter what the outside temperature is. She
wants to play in the hose water even early in the morning. Hope to hear from you soon

MOBY
Moby weighs 48.5 pounds. Our puppy is a very active happy guy, definatly requiring 2-3 walks per day. One of
which we do an off leash hike in the hills or sneak to the beach after the life guards go off duty for a big romp.
Moby is quick to learn but can also be very disobediant at times. Seems like he has a run of good behavior days
and then a couple of bouncy naughty days

FOXY
Feb.3-It's been a while since I sent you anything... We just Adore our girl!  She is such a delight, She and Greta
are fast friends,  I would like to unseperable, but I believe
Greta likes a break now and then.  We have had her in the snow (she loves it)  the RV...she loves it...but  really
loves it when we get home. She is very social, and just loves
other dogs, no matter what size... I wish I had a picture of her and Moose...He was an enormus Great Dane that
looked like a cow, he was 250lbs...We just came from friends who have a mini Pincer.about  3lbs..they call her
mouse...those two dogs ran for hours chasing each other and having so much fun!.
We just got home from a trip through AZ, and a visit to Grandma in Lake Havasu...we took Foxy and Greta to the
dog park there, and then to the chanel to swim.
I have been keeping you pretty current on Foxy... she is 43.5 lbs today, and stands about 22 in. to the top of her
shoulder.
She is very well behaved, and follows our commands very well...with minor disobedience.  She shows her devil
side by chewing, and that is only when we ignore her or neglect to follow (what she thinks) is the routine.  She
watched me leave in the car one morning...I had put her out in the yard, neglected to tell her I was leaving, would
be back soon, and to be a good dog (don't laugh... they totally understand) when I came home my office was in
shambles!  This is very rare!
She is very affectionate and still desires to be cuddled.  She is very social and plays really well with other dogs,
once she has deemed them to be safe.  She is very birdy and we are considering taking her to a friend in Gilroy
who trains Germ.Short hair Pters for field trials.. just  for and introduction to bird hunting...to complement her
instinct.  I believe dogs need to know what they were born to do.  She has two daily jobs.. to bring in the morning
news paper and to bring in the afternoon mail( she shares these duties with Greta and is almost a pro...almost!.
She has a great vocabulary, and will catch, get her ball, get the frisbee, bring it to me, drop it , sit, stay, down,
shake, come, stay in your yard, heel, and DANGER.  ( I think she is VERY smart)  she has been so easy to train...
and I rarely use a treat.
We go for play time about 3 times a day, off leash with lots of running and jumping.  Greta cant walk far now, and
she is sadif I take Foxy ...so my routine is to take them both for a short stroll...they always get a treat after play
time or a walk... so they go right home when I think playtime is over...
She is a beautiful dog and attracts alot of attention when we are out.  We just love our girl!!!

SAVANNAH
Feb.1-Savannah is doing fine!  She has really settled into life in Oregon!  She is a friendly, happy, energetic 40
pound Vizsla.
She comes to work with me every day.  She is currently napping on her rug in the corner.  She mastered riding in
a car in the first few days she was here.  The crate you sent with her is her travel crate and, for the moment, she
still rides in there.  Sometime in the next few months I hope to train her to ride with a seatbelt harness.  She has
learned to ‘Stand’ where and when I tell her; although, we are not quite ready to transition to off-leash yet.  With all
the vehicles and all the different types of vehicles, ‘Stand’ was one of the first commands she needed to learn.
She knows ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘ok’, ‘off’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘let’s go’, ‘potty’, ‘careful’, ‘drop’, ‘leave it’, ‘rug’, and ‘crate’.  She
also knows basic grooming words ‘time for ears’, ‘time for brushing’, ‘time for nails’, ‘time for teeth’.  She didn’t
need to be taught ‘treat.’ 
She has more than a few doggie friends.  She loves to play chase with the golden retriever next door and the
border collie on the other side of us.  She has two standard poodles that she plays full-contact tag with.  I was
worried until I saw how well she can hold her own with them.  She has two toy poodles she walks with, but they are
older and sort of cranky, so she doesn’t play so much as walk with them.
The rain and the cold have not bothered her a bit.  She looked a bit startled the first time snow fell on her back,
but once she decided it wasn’t a threat, she made a great game of trying to eat it as it fell.  That potty trip took
quite a while – she kept jumping as high as she could and I was just about falling over laughing.
Feb.28-Savannah was 43 pounds last week when we went in for her spay surgery.  She is bright and curious and
makes me laugh every day.  She is also VERY independent and still occasionally tries to decide whether to follow
commands or not; however, she does not get into mischief and we haven't had an inappropriate chewing epsiode
yet (knock on wood).  In addition to her independence, she is also incredibly brave.  There is no fear in her world.
She will walk (but not run) up to almost anything or anyone to sniff and check it out.  We (very briefly) went
through a fear stage at around 5 months.  It took a day to teach the CheckItOut! OK! commands.  After a few
days, that was that.  She is very vocal and when she performs a command that she does not really want to do, she
will grumble.  Even with all the walks we take, she is super-bouncy.  She is a lap dog and looks constantly
surprised and disappointed that my lap did not grow as she grew.  Her personality is a great fit!
Physically, Savannah has lighter patches running down each side of her neck and on her hind-quarters.  Her eyes
have turned the yellow color.  I read somewhere that it can take up to 2 years for them to settle into their final
color.  She now has a small scar on her ear where she lost an encounter with a rose bush.  We struggled with ear
infections for a while, but she seems to have outgrown them.
Overall, she is exactly the dog I was hoping for.
Thanks Marilyn!

BELLA
Travis, Christina, and Bella here reporting in! :) We are all doing great!!! Bella is such a wonderful dog and
perfect fit in out new family. I attached pictures young and present. I just weighed her and she is 45lb, and
growing!! And she is a little less than 24 inchs from the ground to her back.  How heavy is Sonnie? Bella loves to
lay in the sun in the back yard and when she is inside she has to be in our laps ha ha, if not she lets out a few
cries of frustration and then sadly walks to her bed.. :) but most of the time she is in some ones lap. She is a very
smart smart dog, she waits for her food, sits, stays, lays down, and shakes on command. She also likes to get into
mischief like grabbing shoes from the closet, and anything thats soft and laying around. She loves her walks and
is such and mellow dog after wards. She is very social with other dogs, at the dog park and dog beach in
Huntington. Also My parents 8 year old Golden Retriever quickly became Bellas pseudo mom when ever Christina
and I were out of town.
She is a talker!! my goodness she grunts in relaxation when you touch her when shes sleeping. We love her so so
much!!! Thank you Marilyn.

HENRY
Sweet Henry is doing great. We love him sooooo much and we think the feeling is mutual. He is a happy dog,
curious, friendly, intelligent, but most of all, hungry. He will eat anything. Anything. We really have to watch him.
We tried to weigh him this afternoon but he is much too wiggly to get an accurate measurement. We estimate
around 51 pounds. How does that compare to the others? I'm curious.

NIKITA
Nikita has one continuing obedience problem: she gets soooooo excited when I come home she jumps on me and
we really don't want her doing that. But she is getting better.
She is very smart and eager to learn.  She has started "tracking" training.  From a small pup we noticed how much
she liked to pick up peoples scents and get things
for them that were theirs', even if they didn't want them.  The tracking training gets her very excited and she is
even closer and attached to Eric more than ever.  Getting
praised for doing well is like food to her!
The tracking idea came because when out on long hikes, she would lead us back the way we came, not matter
how far out we are! She always wants to be in the lead. We found
out these are perfect traits to be a tracking dog. We decided we would use her gifts she already has.  It makes her
happy too!
It is hard to describe how sweet and loving she is.  She has blessed our lives so much that we are considering
finding a way to use the inspiration to get others to be encouraged to take their dogs with them everywhere.  She
loves going with us in the car, loads up on command.  From the time she was a pup, we just say, "goodnight
Nikita" and she goes into her kennel and stays there all night til let out.
Just last night I was a bit miffed at her aggressiveness with me and she knew it.  She laid down by Eric.  A half
hour later she crawled over to me, put her muzzle on my neck and blew real hard.  How can anyone be mad after
that!? She always apologizes! It's amazing what we can learn from a dog!
Something that is fun to observe is her with other dogs.  If the dog is not confident, she doesn't do well around
them, but if they are, she and  the dog become fast buds in just seconds. We would like her to be a little more
social, calmly, but she just LOVES people and wants to pet them. (we started calling it that because it seems like
that's what she is doing.)
When we wanted to get her, I wanted a dog that could be a companion to Eric for he loves the outdoors and
hikes.  She has been that and more.  He is so proud of
her, not only because she is beautiful, but her personality is adorable.  Eric calls her "the best puppy ever".
Thank you for having one for us!

CHARLIE
Charlie is doing wonderful.  He is about 23 inches at the top of the shoulder.  He is inquisitive and playful, yet
knows his boundaries well.  He learned the basic commands in the following order: sit, shake, high five, bed, stay,
and lay down; all within a few days if not less than a day.  Charlie is great on and off the leash.  He goes to dog
beach in Del Mar 3-4 days a week and absolutely loves to run full speed through the water.  It's a beautiful sight.
What is most beautiful is his coat and general presence.  Other dog owners and even Vizsla's owners frequently
comment on how "handsome", "perfect" and "goergeous" he is.
Thank you for such a dream dog and best friend!

MAPLE
We're all doing well, thank you! Maple is now 42 pounds. Her coat is very evenly colored, a beautiful reddish-
brown. She is a sweetheart. Very velcro, very loving. Loves attention. She was easy to train. When she sees birds
in our yard, she "points" at them, which is cute. I worried at first that she might try to catch one, but I think she
mainly likes to point at them! The kids love her - they play fetch with her, curl up in her dog bed with her, and take
her on walks. I'll take some pictures soon and send them along.

We've been meaning to join one of the Vizsla meet-ups at Fiesta Island, but haven't made it to one yet. Hopefully
we'll do it soon as the weather gets better. I'd love to see her play with other Vizslas, she seems to like other dogs
when we walk her around the neighborhood.
Thanks again for checking in with us, and for giving us such a wonderful addition to our family!

ZUMI
Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you! We are all doing very well. Zumi is a firecracker! He is sweet, feisty,
dominant, smart and loves to snuggle right on top of anyone! He follows sit, lay down, stay and leash up
commands most of the time and as long as he is interested. His weight is about 50lbs and almost as tall as Rocco
who is is 4 years old today. Him and Rocco get along great! They run and chase each other all over the house
and out in the desert they go "crazy"! They get at least one off the leash walk everyday if not two...If it is one
about an hour is the minimal time they need to work out the energy. Zumi is getting better, but not completely
trustworthy yet. He still gets in the trash occasionally and he likes to eat bark and any plants he can get ahold of.
He loves people and has a bit of a jumping problem. He is significantly more dominant than Rocco is and had
been since we brought him home. So, it is actually a good fit. They adore each other and play constantly if not
sleeping. We love him so very much, and he is the perfect addition to our family!
Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of the heavenly
lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

                                                            (10 wks old)

KINGSTON
Hi, sorry we haven't updated you sooner, I've attached several pictures and will try and give you updates more
frequently. First off we decided to name him Kingston after the capital of Jamaica.  The kids absolutely adore him
and are awesome in helping extinguish the massive amount of energy he has. He sleeps all through the night
and is completely potty trained. He is almost ready for his third set of shots and we are looking forward to next
month when he will be fully immune so that we can start enjoying the outdoors with him. From the first night home
we've consistently been crate training him and he now is comfortable going in there during the day to sleep with
the door open. He understands sit fairly well and additionally he plays fetch perfect other than he doesn't  always
wanna drop the ball. Anyways we will keep in touch and Thank you for providing us with an incredible dog!!

SCOUT
I can't believe my little Scout is getting so big already! He is such a good boy, we love him so much. He has been
to the vet for his second round of shots, and he goes back in about a week for the final round. I can't wait to be
able to take him to dog parks and more public places. For now we go on long walks around our neighborhood,
usually 2-3 per day keeps him calm and tuckered out. He loves to sniff and check everything out. He likes to eat
dandelions, so my neighbors thank him for pulling their weeds :) He is a very social dog, he loves to "say hi" to
everyone we pass by, and usually they can't resist him either. Thanks to Scout I have met many people all over
my neighborhood. We have a little pet shop a few blocks from my house, we walk down and let Scout pick out
treats. He is a big fan of rawhide. He is a big fan of chewing in general. We try to make sure he has plenty of
rawhide treats and toys to chew on, to keep him from being naughty and chewing on our furniture or the two
kitties. He is such a smart pup, and is pretty much potty trained already. We crate him when we have to leave him
alone in the house, and he has not had a single accident. He sleeps in our bed with us at night and can make it
until morning with out needing to go out.
I am looking into enrolling him in some puppy classes that are held at the pet shop down the street. He seems to
know his name, but I would not trust him off of his leash just yet. We have a beach trip planned for Memorial Day
weekend, I cannot wait to show the little guy the ocean.  We also have a couple of camping trips planned for this
summer.
I attached a few pictures, but I will send better ones soon. Photography is my step dads hobby, and he took
photos of Scout last weekend. It was a challenge keeping him still for long, but I think he got some really good
shots. My mom just loves Scout and calls him her little grand-pup. She comes over on days Matt and I both have
to work and takes him for walks and plays with him. (It would not surprise me if she got one of her own some day,
she loves him so much). She is teaching him fetch and is very proud that he will now bring the ball back to her
and set it down nicely when she says "drop it."
I looked on your website and saw the pictures of the new little puppies! They are adorable. I told Matt that maybe
we should get another so Scout will have a playmate, but I don't think he is sold on the idea just yet. :) Thank you
so much for the smart, healthy, handsome pup. He captured our hearts from the moment he arrived.
Well, I am such a pushover, I could not stand making him sleep in his crate. He is so sweet and snuggly, so from
the first night he has always slept in our bed. At first I had to wake up in the middle of the night to take him out,
but now he can make it until about 630-7am (believe it or not, he never had an accident in our bed!!). The crate
we keep in the kitchen. We each had about a week off of work when we first got him, so we introduced the crate
slowly each day with milk bones and peanut butter. Now he is fine to stay in for up to 4-5 hours, and thankfully my
mom is able to come and "baby sit" on the days we both have to work. :) He really is a smart little doggie. He
hardly barks. He does whine once in a while but its the funniest little whine, it sounds like a little bird chirping.

ARIEL
Hey Marilyn,
We named our pup Ariel to go along with her parent's names, anyways I can not get her to stop biting. She pretty
much sleeps through the night and is still using litter boxes with saw/cedar chips, and is not having many
accidents at all, she does not like being left alone at all, even if you are standing right there, we still use doggie
doors to keep her out of certain areas, and if she is left alone she will scream bloody murder, you would think
someone was cutting off her leg. I have our trainer coming over in 2 weeks to show us some tricks to try and get
her to stop biting, She will stop in some cases but for the most part she still likes to bit, she loves to come into the
shower when you are in it, the first time it was a bit creepy, when all of a sudden something is licking your toes.
Kind of freaked me out. Now I try very hard to keep her out. She will get her 3rd set of shots next weekend and
then off to the river she will go, she has been out there but not on the boat. There was a couple out there who
also have a Vizsla so we introduced them. Ariel, was a bit shy.  Another woman chased us half way down the
street screaming the whole way is that a Vizsla and can I pet her. We really try and keep people and other dogs
away from her until she has had all her shots. And of course she is still getting into everything. But we are all
doing ok.  Thanks

GABBY
Sorry... have been  meaning to send pics.. Green is now Gabby. She is 13 1/2 pounds  and is
doing great! She is wonderful. She does get up once a nite... but hopefully she will go thru
the nite soon. She was almost completely potty trained when she got a bladder infection..
so there is a bit of a setback occasionally.. but she is almost well... so it will all clear up.
We love her very much and she is not only a lover... but is very smart. I am thankful that
she has 5 acres... as she has alot of energy. She has changed our lives forever and we are
very happy about that... and definately not as lazy!! Here are a few pics and will send more. Shawn

ELLIE
Hey Marilyn!
We are in LOVE with our Ellie! She has been great!   We had 8 days for getting up in the middle of the night and
then she slept through the night – til 7am!  She loves her crate and is about 80% potty trained.  She is doing very
well with training – I have been doing clicker training as well as just training with treats. She awesome at sitting
and come. Pretty good with stay considering she is still just a puppy. She will fetch and drop very quickly when
told to drop – we give a treat about every 2nd or 3rd time. She still wants to attack our legs when she is wound up
but I have found the spray bottle to be VERY effective for this behavior  She is a VERY loving dog and we really
enjoy her – she is still intimidated by the pool but I am ok with that right now.

LEO
Hi Marilyn!
Great to hear from you.  As I'm sure you'd imagine, our house is busy, busy.  I'm so sorry I haven't stayed in
better contact. I wasn't sure how often you would like to be updated, as I know you have a lot of happy puppy
owners flooding your inbox. :)
Portia was my problem child, & Leo is a saint!!! He is SO smart -- he is fully potty trained, and has very quickly
mastered both hand & verbal cues for sit, down, & stay!! Amazing!  In addition, he stops whatever he is doing
when I call his name, & immediately sits at attention, with full eye contact!!  Don't pinch me if I'm dreaming... :)
He is getting tons of exercise,  (loves to run, play fetch & wrestle w/Portia) and always sleeps through the night,
typically from 11-6.  He is fully crate trained, & loves his den (it is the one place he knows Portia has to leave him
alone).  Leo and Portia are best of friends--we can't imagine our lives without him!!!!

JEDIDIAH
Jedidiah is potty trained, crate trained and sleeps through the night til about 6am.
He sits fine as long as he is imitating Nikita (Judah and Sonnies' litter).
He runs and tries to keep up with her which is not such an accomplished feat.
He and Nikita love tug o' war with long toys.  He gets pulled around quite a bit, but
Nikita is gentle with him.  Even though a bit over zealous, she knows when to calm
him down.
He has been easier than she was to stop the nipping of our hands (not feet), and to not
jump up.  Like I said, he imitates her AND knows what we don't like her to do so he
hasnt picked up on some of her bad habits like jumping up on us.
He is so gentle, and somewhat independent.  He LOVES his alone time and often we will
find him off sunning himself or laying on a dog bed for some quiet time.
He loves to stick his head under the couch (its too big now) so he does head stands and
sticks his little but up in the air trying to get an item he wants. He is sooo agile.
The 2 of them together are quite a handful but well worth the love and work we put into them.
We love our vizslas!

SAMMY
Sammy is doing great! Sammy is an amazing dog with a great personality! We get out
on our nature trail everyday (you'll see it in the pictures i attached). My gate in the
backyard literally opens up to it and she loves to explore, go meet new people and
play with other dogs. Everyone knows Sammy on our trail and just absolutely loves
her!! She is very loving and always wants to be at your side. She's very submissive
and is never a fighter but a lover. She's extremely smart and always aware of whats
going on at all times! Shes weighing about 60lbs and is roughly 28" tall.

NELLI
At 2 years old Nelli is now a lean 65 pounds and 26 inches tall at the shoulders.
People who see her for the first time often comment on how beautiful she is.  Even
vizsla owners, once they get over how big she is, say she is one of the best looking
vizslas they have ever seen.  They are also amazed at how mild-mannered she is.
Everyone she meets is a friend, especially if you have food or are wearing something
that once touched food.
Nelli was 7 months old when our first daughter was born.  Nelli and Holly have been
best friends ever since.  Nelli will let Holly do just about anything to her, including pull
her ears, stick a finger up her nose, and even take food out of her bowl while she’s
eating.
Nelli’s favorite spot to be is sprawled across our laps.  Even when we hang out in the
back yard she prefers to be sitting on a lounge chair with one of us, unless a bird or
squirrel comes into view, then she’ll chase it down.  She is anything but lazy though.
She loves to run around the dog park for several hours every day and is a great
jogging companion.
Overall she is the best dog we can imagine.  Although she is our first vizsla she may
have turned us into vizsla owners for life.

SASHA
I have lots of pictures of Sasha, she really turned out to be the prettiest Vizsla- or at
least that's what everyone on the Vizsla walk I take here on during Sundays says. The
Vizsla walk goes to Point Pinole or Fort Funston every Sunday, and is led by Kay, the
woman in charge of Vizsla Rescue of Northern California. So Sasha gets to run free
off leash with about 20 other Vizslas through fields, woods, and along the beach
almost every week. It's quite a site. She's not fixed so she is well developed, and
although she was the runt of the litter she is just as big as the biggest females on the
Vizsla walk we take her on. I think she gets her size from her mom. She is a natural
field dog. I wish I had some videos of her in action. She does these rapid stalks and
then freezes until she is just feet away from a bird and then she'll stand their frozen in
point until I do something or the bird flys away, it's really cute!
Sasha is is a 45 pound bundle of love. She is our sweet cuddle dog and sleeps under
the covers with us as often as she can. She is the life of the dog park and runs circles
around everyone. Her favorite day of the week is Sunday when she gets to romp off
leash with 20 other Vizsla's during our weekly Northern California Vizsla walk. She
loves going to the beach and swimming in the waves. When she's off leash birds and
squirrels beware! because she's always on the alert. We love having Sasha in our
life, she's the perfect companion whether we're hanging out at home or out and about
in nature.

KAL
Kalamunda is doing well he is a great dog and part of the family. Kal’s weight is 60
pounds. We have open fields around us that we take him to everyday. The way he
runs and jumps makes me think he is part kangaroo, it is comical to watch. He is an
indoor dog that thrives around people. He loves to be near us and be where the
action is. At the dog park and in public his obedience astounds almost everyone. He
is great in the field when hunting. Kal at times can be a bit vocal (Marilyn did tell me I
was picking the vocal one in the litter) but is getting better with age. He is an essential
part of our family, the kids love him and he loves the kids. For a family/hunting dog I
could never be more satisfied.
